A dishwasher that stops part-way, a washing machine showing an E-code, a dryer whose cycles keep getting longer? We work on Asko machines and nothing else - the problem is measured on site, the price is written down before anything is opened, and our own labor warranty covers the repair.

What Your Asko Error Code Is Telling You
Asko does not use one error code scheme, it uses several, and which one you are looking at depends on the appliance and roughly when it was built. That matters more here than with most brands: a dishwasher F1 on an older machine and an F10 on a current one are not the same family of code, and reading one meaning onto the other sends the repair in the wrong direction. Laundry machines use an E-series instead, with a decimal point for sub-problems. Some appliances in the range report by behavior rather than by code at all. In every case the code names the circuit the control is unhappy about, not the part that failed - which is why we measure the circuit rather than order the part the code is named after. Note the code down before you cut the power, because clearing it wipes it.
- F1 to F9
- Older dishwashers only - the DW20 and DW70 platforms behind the 3000 and 5000 series. A current machine does not speak this way
- FA, FB
- Also the older dishwasher platforms, at the end of the same single-character run
- F:10 to F:45
- The DW90 dishwasher platform, recognizable by the colon between the letter and the number
- F10 to F68
- Current built-in dishwashers - the DBI, DFI and DSD machines from roughly 2015 onward
- Service menu only
- Many dishwasher problems are logged without ever being displayed. The cycle runs to the end and the owner sees nothing at all
- Failure readout
- On current dishwashers the stored problems are readable through Settings, item 9, without any tools
- E0 to E37
- Logic-generation washing machines. The display says Error and a number; the INFO button spells out the description
- E7.1, E13.1, E13.2
- A decimal point means a sub-problem inside that family, not a separate code
- E0 to E9
- Logic and heat-pump tumble dryers. There is no E5 on these machines
- F1, F2
- The older TD60.1 dryer platform, which numbers differently from the E-series above
- UNBALANCE
- A washing machine text alert rather than a code - the load has not distributed well enough to spin
- UNABLE TO LOCK DOOR
- The control could not prove the door shut, so the cycle never started
- STERIL TUB ALERT
- A maintenance prompt, not an error - the drum cleaning cycle is being requested
- DRAIN SYSTEM ALERT
- The machine is reporting that it could not drain as expected
- No code at all
- Drying cabinets, wine cabinets and the professional laundry line report by behavior rather than by code, so what the machine is doing matters more than what it displays
206 Asko error codes documented on this site, each one written from the manufacturer's own material. Where a code has no published meaning, we say so instead of inventing one.
Two things about Asko codes catch people out. The first is that the same characters mean different things on different platforms, so the model number matters as much as the code - have it ready when you call. The second is that a great many dishwasher problems are recorded only in the service menu: the machine finishes its cycle, nothing appears on the display, and the problem sits in the log until somebody goes looking. If a dishwasher has been behaving oddly without ever showing a code, that log is usually where the answer already is.
Recognize the Warning Signs
These are the issues we get called about most. If any of this sounds familiar, it is worth a diagnostic visit before the problem gets worse.
Dishwasher finishing its cycle with water still in the base
Switch it off at the breaker before you go near the sump, because a wet drain circuit and live power are the wrong combination. On current machines the stored problem can be read out first, which usually says whether the pump, the hose or the sensor is to blame before a panel comes off. See likely causes →
Washing Machine refusing to lock the door and start
The lock is an interlock, not a catch - the control will not begin until it reads the door as shut. A worn striker, a swollen bellows lip or a failed lock circuit look identical from outside and are separated by measurement. See likely causes →
Tumble Dryer taking noticeably longer than it used to
On a heat-pump machine this is almost always airflow or a blocked condenser rather than a failed part. Times creep up over months, so most owners only notice once a cycle has nearly doubled. Clearing the right paths often restores it entirely. See likely causes →
Drying Cabinet blowing air that never gets warm
Very few technicians in this country have worked on one at all. The heater, the fan and the control interact differently from a tumble machine, and the problem usually sits in the heating circuit or its thermostat rather than anywhere near the fan. See likely causes →
Washer-Dryer Combo stopping part-way through the drying phase
One drum both washes and dries, which puts the drying circuit somewhere no separate machine has it. A cycle that completes the wash and stalls afterwards points at the condensing circuit or its sensing, not at the wash side. See likely causes →
Wine Cabinet drifting away from the temperature it is set to
Isolate it and leave the door shut while you take a reading, because opening it repeatedly tells you nothing. A stalled fan, a failing sensor or a door seal that no longer closes each produce the same drift and are told apart on a meter. See likely causes →
Commercial Laundry unit out of service in a shared laundry room
In a building laundry or a marine installation, a machine standing idle costs money every hour. Note the model and exactly what the display shows when you call, and the technician arrives prepared for that platform rather than diagnosing it from scratch. See likely causes →
Why Homeowners Trust Us With Their Asko Appliances
One Make, Every Day
We work on Asko and nothing else. The platforms, the service menus and the way these controls report problems are familiar rather than looked up on arrival.
Measured, Not Swapped
A code names a circuit, not a part. The suspect part goes on a meter and is shown to have failed before we recommend replacing it.
Nothing Starts Before You Agree
The diagnosis comes first, then a figure in writing. Decide against the repair and you have paid for the diagnosis and nothing more.
Straight Talk About Older Machines
Asko builds these to last, and a fifteen-year-old machine is often worth repairing. When it is not - or when a part has genuinely gone out of supply - you hear that before you spend anything.
Parts Position Stated Up Front
Where a part for an older platform is slow or uncertain to source, we say so at the visit rather than leaving you waiting on a call that never comes.
Our Labor, Our Warranty
Every completed repair carries our own workmanship warranty. We are an independent repair company specializing in this make, not an authorized service provider, and we say so plainly rather than implying otherwise.
Why a Asko Specialist Beats a General Repair Shop
A Asko specialist focuses exclusively on Asko appliances, carries Asko-specific parts in every service vehicle, and trains technicians specifically on Asko diagnostic procedures. A general repair shop works across dozens of brands and often doesn't stock parts — or carry deep expertise — for a less common model.
| Capability | Us · Asko Specialist | General Repair Shop |
|---|---|---|
| Asko parts in stock | Always | Sometimes |
| Asko-trained technicians | Every tech | Maybe one |
| Knows current + legacy models | Every series | Limited |
| Repair warranty included | 30 days | Varies |
| Background-checked technicians | Required | Varies |
