These are machines built on a stainless-steel frame and inner construction, designed to be kept rather than replaced, and most of what shortens that life is mechanical and preventable. Dishwasher coarse and fine filters load up until the wash water stops arriving where it should. Spray arm jets block with scale and debris, and the plates at the far end of the rack are the first to show it. The drain pump trap on a washer collects coins, grit and hair until the pump is working against it. Lint paths narrow until a dryer runs hot and slow. None of that is dramatic, and all of it costs less to deal with before it becomes a repair.
A maintenance visit covers those jobs properly and tells you honestly what does not need doing. We clean and reseat dishwasher filters, clear spray arm jets, check inlet screens and hoses for scale and age, service the pump trap and door gasket on a washer, clear the lint path on a dryer and check the vent run where there is one, and go over door hinges, springs and seals. Some Asko dishwashers have a built-in water softener that takes dishwasher salt; where yours does, the reservoir gets checked as well.
Where a component is near the end of its service life you hear it as a heads-up, with the parts position stated plainly, rather than as a sales pitch. On a machine that is old enough for availability to be a question, knowing that a year ahead of the failure is worth more than knowing it on the day.
