Two model numbers on one line of an index is a useful piece of evidence, and it is what the record gives for the D1996SS. Asko’s own 2002 United States Product Guide indexes the D1996SS and the D1996HNDL against the same page: the first is the stainless steel machine, the second is the version carrying the full-width stainless handle. Asko put them together because they are the same dishwasher presented two ways.
Nothing further about the D1996SS survives in a form worth quoting. There is no specification sheet behind that index line, so no capacity, sound level or cycle list is given here and no figure is lifted from another Asko number. The model is long discontinued, and the sensible order of questions on a machine of that age is whether the part still exists, then what the work costs – not the other way round.
